Description

Using safety temperature limiters (STB) and safety temperature monitors (STW) makes it possible to detect dangers that can lead to personal injuries, environmental damage or destruction of production systems and materials
and to avert the dangers early and reliably.
The primary task of the instrument is to monitor thermal processes reliably and place systems in the secure state in the event of a malfunction.
The measured value at the analog input can be recorded with various sensors or standard signals. Installed LEDs K1 and K2 (red) indicate when a limit value is exceeded for each channel and the built-in alarm relay output switches the system to a reliable operating state (alarm range).
Compliance with the high requirements of DIN EN 61508 and DIN EN 13849 is ensured by a device concept with an 1oo2D structure for reliably detecting errors, These instruments are therefore also suitable for use in applications subject to the new Machinery Directive 2006/ 42/EC.

Description

The JUMO TB/TW 08 is a freely programmable temperature limiting device. The measurement input is freely configurable for resistance thermometers and thermocouples as well as current and voltage signals.

Temperature monitors/limiters monitor thermal processes in systems for a set limit value. If the limit value is exceeded, the installed relay (with safety fuse) switches the system to a secure operating state. The green OK LED goes out and LED K1 is lit red. If the system returns to the OK range, the Reset key must be pressed for TB instruments. On the other hand, TW instruments automatically reset themselves without any external control. The KV relay can generate a warning alarm signal at an adjustable temperature before the limit value is reached. The switching state of the signal is also indicated by the KV LED.

TB/TW 08 are designed for panel mounting and are wired via plug-in screw terminals with a conductor cross-section of max. 2.5mm2. A PC setup program is available as an accessory and can be used to adjust and save the sensor mode, measuring range, output behavior and inhibits.
