Combined cold/heat meter RTD temperature probes are used for temperature measurement in closed pipeline systems. Direct mounting without an additional thermowell is recommended to achieve optimum thermal coupling to the measurement medium in the heating system.

DIN EN 50446 defines the terminal head design types A and B, which differ in size and also slightly in their shape. Aluminum or plastic is used, depending on the application. These design types are suitable for the installation of a two-wire transmitter.
